A General "Funk Family" Update....
Thought I would give an update on how we are all doing. I have been lagging on Kaylee's Blog so..
Kaylee has made some huge changes in the past week-We have been working with her on counting. She was doing great counting to three. Then the other day she was counting out pennies and putting them in her bank. She started with "one" then went all the way to "five". She is saying alot more words and is getting better at sentences. When we were housesitting at my parent's last weekend she had my shoes and was sitting right next to "Sugar" the cat. She told him "C'mon, put feet in shoes". She was trying to get his paw in the shoe. Sugar is amazingly patient with her. She likes to lay on the ground next to him with her head next to his and either whisper to him or try to give him kisses. She calls him "Mow". Then last week she was playing with a tricycle that belongs to our neighbors. Usually she will sit on the back of it by the wheel. But as I was talking to my mom on the phone I looked and she was sitting up on the seat and peddling it down our sidewalk all on her own. Brian and I have been wanting to get her a bike but figured she had some time before she would be ready. Now we know she can do it and are hoping to get her one very soon. The biggest achievement though happened this morning. I looked down the hall and she was standing right outside the bathroom. We have a safety gate that stays up in the doorway so she was standing right next to it. She had taken off her diaper and looked like she was getting ready to pee. So I told her to come and sit on her potty. We bought a toilet for her a few months back in hopes to get her used to it and it was in the front room at the time. She usually will play with it and likes to close the lid and use it as the step stool. But she came right to it today without her diaper and sat down. I was just excited that she understood the concept but was even more amazed when she began to potty in it. After she was done she took her diaper and threw it in the potty as well. haha. We cleaned the bathroom and moved any cleaners to a high cabinet and removed the gate. So now her potty is next to the toilet. I'm constantly amazed by her. She isn't even two yet and just grows more everyday!
As for her little sister: Ana Marie Funk, is doing great, and moving soo much! Kaylee calls her "Beebee Nanas". The other day I had Kaylee laying next to me on the couch and we were watching the Disney Channel. I love how cuddly Kaylee is being and was enjoying my life very much at that moment when Ana started moving all kinds. I couldn't help but laugh watching Kay next to me while my tummy was just constantly moving! I'm getting so excited to meet this new little Funk. Brian and I get a kick out of saying things like "Our girls" or "the girls". We picked red and black for Ana's colors. Kay's was the pink and brown. We have a baby dresser that is now completely full and I've been getting all the baby stuff from storage to clean and bottles to sterilize. Brian and I both are getting very into it!
As for me: I am definetly feeling very pregnant right now. I'm 6 months along and feeling very tired. I'm enjoying it all though! My friend Renee is moving two streets down next week and I'm really excited about that. I'm really wanting to hang out with a good friend and our daughters are only months apart so I know it will be good for Kay as well. I have noticed that with this pregnancy things are affecting me alot more then usual. As you can tell by my status updates, I am having a tough time with meighbor's and things going on in the apartment complex we live in. But when it comes down to it, I love my life and my growing family!
