Kaylee At 10 Months Old

Kaylee has been growing up so fast!! At 10 months old she is 24 pounds!!!! She took her first step the other day but hasn't been too anxious to try it again. She did have another very high fever last friday which has me a bit concerned. We took her to the doctors and they told us that there is a virus going around. However, I am considering having some blood work done to check if she has a high level of lead. Our apartment is pretty old and our front door has alot of paint chips that fall off of it. Along with very old pipes that we use the water from for her baths. I'm hoping that I'm just a nervous first mom but I want to make sure. So I of course will keep everyone posted.

Miss Kaylee Update..

Kaylee has been very sick this last week. Brian took her to the doctor last wed. and she weighs 23 pounds and 2 ounces. But her throat is very inflamed and has been running a constant fever. They put her on antibiotics and I see improvement but unfortunately she is now very dehydrated. This morning, though, she has been drinking alot of fluids with no problem.

I began watching a baby boy who is a little over a month old. I watch him at home mon- fri. The first few days were a bit hard. Kaylee didn't understand why I was taking care of him and holding him. So we had a lot of moments of her holding onto my legs and crying while I was trying to walk with him. But now, she seems to be getting used to it, and she loves to look at him and smiles alot when he is awake and making those cute baby sounds. Of course, when she became sick I immediately was concerned for his health. Luckily, I don't have him again till monday so the antibiotics will have a good chance of really working.

I know it's still a few months ahead but I have began to plan for her 1rst b-day which is Oct. 12th. Thats pretty fun. There will be quite a few kids there. Older then Kaylee, lots of neighborhood kids, and some friends of mine have young kids, so I have been trying to plan games and fun things for them. I think it will be a great party. I just can't believe she is almost a year old. Kaylee is just starting to take some steps while holding my hands. Before she would get upset immediately and sit down but now she'll walk a bit with me. Hopefully she will be feeling better real soon. Take Care...
