Kaylee Update

Kaylee is really starting to talk now, alot of it is baby talk, but she talks our ear off. She is saying a few little words for example, she puts herself to sleep now, so I lay her in her crib and turn her music on and tell her "Goodnight, I love you" and she says back "bye"...and when she gets hurt or hits her head on the couch which she did today, I say "Bad Couch" and now she will run around the house and hit the wall or nightstand and say "bad".
Also, she will run to the kitchen and get by the fridge and cupboards and hide and when I walk in she will come running out and scream at the top of her lungs!!!Then she covers her face and laughs...When she gets really excited she clinches her fists and stiffens her arms and will scream and then covers her face very dramatically and laugh. She is quite the character already!!! She also likes to open up books and point at the words and talk like she is reading out loud like I do with her.
Well, tomorrow is her shots, luckily Brian is off so we can go together. I'll post something tomorrow evening with her weight and all that stuff. She is very solid!!! Quite the stocky one. We call her "bulldozer" now because she has no fear and puffs up her chest and will charge us when we are playing. Oh, I just love this little person! Goodnight!
A Hard Day Indeed

On November 17th, John and I had to take Kaylee to get blood work done, and a lead test. I was thinking that since she was so young it would be a simple poke in her finger. But it was blood drawn from the arm. I held her on my lap in the seat and of course she immediately began to cry. John held her free arm while two nurses drew some blood. Once this was done, we went to get her some ice cream but she wasn't going for it. She ended up crying herself to sleep and I laid with her at home while she slept. I was really shaken myself. My fear of needles and of course watching my 1 year old go through this scary moment was horrible. But once she woke up, she was just fine. I still took her downtown and got her some toy cars which she loves. I was soo thankful for John. Brian felt bad that he couldn't get out of work and I just didn't want to do this alone so John brought us and as we waited he pushed Kay up and down the hallway in the wheelchair which she thought was pretty cool.
On November 20th I got a call from Kaylee's doctor and all was just perfect with her test. No Lead and nothing out of the ordinary. I'm so thankful that's over.
