Great American Photo Contest

So, I got a letter from The Great American Photo Contest, and asked for our permission to put Kaylee's picture in "Americas Most Beautiful Babies" coffee-table book that will be coming out this fall. Ofcourse we said "Yes"!! We are so excited and can't wait. Thank you to everyone that voted for her. I voted and realized that you have to go through a bunch of advertisement offers so I was a bit frustrated with that. I really appreciate people sitting through all of it. We will keep everyone posted about this book...YAY!!!!

Meeting Uncle Tony and Aunt Brenda

So, today was a very big day for all of us, my brother Tony and his wife Brenda came to visit. I have only met Tony once before but we have exchanged letters over the last 3 years. My dad had always told me that I had a brother when I was little but he passed away before I ever had the chance to meet him. I spent over 10 years looking for him and finally found him about 3 years ago. Kaylee really took to him and they played together the whole time!! It was a great day!!

Today's Check-up

Kaylee had her shots and check-up today... She weighs 18 pounds 7 ounces. And is 37 and 1/2 inches long. She is great health and right on target for her age. The shots are always hard but this time I stayed in the room with Brian and her. I usually bail but I decided that shots are really scary and I need to get over it and be with my girl during that hard time. So, I cried but I was a trooper just like my baby girl. Now we're home and she already has a fever. I hate this part the most. I really researched the vaccines and decided that I would rather have her get them and be protected from some of the serious illnesses out there.

Well, I had a great first "Mother's Day", Kaylee and I spent the day at my parent's house. Brian had to work till 6pm, but he bought me red roses so I got over it!! :)

Today Kaylee is 7 months old. Amazing.... she is really starting to try and crawl. She gets up but can't quite get her legs to move with her arms so she falls over. Kaylee is also pulling herself up and standing. And then she lets go and falls right over. At first this scared her but now she just rolls over and does it again. She has a check-up on Wed. so I'm anxious to see how much she weighs. So far she gains 2 pounds every month but her doctor had said that will probably slow down now. I don't know, she loves her food, and we can definetly feel her getting heavier. She is no petite little baby anymore! Well, thats all I got for today...

Dancing With Daddy

I'm not sure if you can hear the music well, but it was pretty funny watching the two dancing!! Kaylee loves to look in the mirror and will get really shy and smile. Its very cute.

Kaylee is just getting over her first cold. It has been 4 days of baby vicks, humidifier, kleenex, and walking back and forth in the room. But we made it! Of course, Brian and I, are now sick and so is my parents... Oh well.

I can't believe that miss Kaylee will be 7 months old on the 12th. It is absolutely amazing how fast time has flown by! She has the most incredible personality. And is becoming very fiesty. Her newest thing is she sings to her favorite blanket as she falls asleep. It's really funny. And she talks to certain things like trees. She is amazed by trees. We stand under one and she stared up and talks. And of course she still does the fake cough all the time. She is also starting to pull herself up and we are working on her crawling. Kaylee got up once and crawled about two steps but then I clapped and she fell back down. Oops. Well, I keep everyone posted, and hopefully she will be crawling very soon. I can't wait and yet I know I will really have my work cut out for me then. Take care.

Thanks Mom and John

Well...they were only able to pull 4 teeth on Wed. and it was a horrific experience but we haven't given up, just a little re-planning. But, I was gone all day so my parents kept Kaylee with them. They all had a blast and then we spent the night there. When I finally got back at about 7pm (5 hours to pull 4 teeth!!) Kaylee had gotten a bath, dinner, and was sleeping soundly on their bed. And then my mom slept on the couch right next to us and woke up with kaylee every 2 hours to feed and change her. When Kaylee woke up at 4:30 am to play, John and my mom got up and played with her for over an hour till she fell back asleep. Not to mention they were also waking me up to take my anti-biotics, changing my ice packs, etc. They were absolute life savers. I'm so grateful. ..So thanks guys, we really appreciate everything.
